Clipper
Layouts and presets
A layout decides how each scene of a clip is framed for its format: who is on screen, how often the shot changes, and where a facecam sits. You pick one in the Clipper's Clipper step, and you can save your own as a preset.
The four layouts
| Layout | Best for | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Auto | Anything | Reads each scene and frames it the best way. |
| Games | Gameplay with a facecam | Facecam on top, gameplay below; just the game when there's no cam. |
| Podcast | Talk shows, interviews | Follows whoever speaks; shows everyone when they talk together. |
| Other | Vlogs, sport, stage | People and action, framed the best way. |
Scene layouts
Inside a clip, each scene gets one of these. You can change a scene's layout in Scenes on the clip card's menu.
| Scene layout | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Fill | The subject crops to fill the frame. |
| Fit | The whole video shows, with blurred bars. |
| Grid | Several people side by side or stacked. |
| Split | Cam on one half, content on the other. |
| Follow | The frame follows the action. |
Content under facecam (in Games) is Fill (crop to cover) or Fit whole (show the whole gameplay).
Make a preset
- In the Clipper step, open the layout's presets and press New preset.
- Name it (My podcast) and pick what it's Based on (Auto, Games, Podcast or Other).
- Tune it:
- Cuts: Calm, Normal or Lively.
- Who's on screen: The speaker, Balanced or Everyone.
- Facecam size: Small, Medium or Large; Facecam place: Top or Bottom (Games).
- Press Save. The Layout preview shows the result.
Edit preset and Delete preset sit on each preset. A run that already used a preset keeps its own copy.
The workspace's reframer
Workspace settings › Reframer picks the framing engine for the workspace's runs; Default follows the app's recommended reframer. See .
FAQ
Which layout should I pick for a gaming stream?
Games. It finds the facecam and stacks it over the gameplay, and shows only the game when there's no cam.
Can I change one scene without re-running?
Yes, its layout. Scenes in the clip card's menu changes a scene's layout and rebuilds just that clip; a scene's time in the video can't be changed.
