Video Editor
Video Editor
The Video Editor is Rewivo's multi-track editor in the browser. Every clip the Clipper makes is a project you can open here, and you can start your own projects from scratch or from a template. You cut and arrange clips on a timeline, move and animate them on a canvas, add text, captions, voice-overs, transitions, filters and effects, and export a new video.
What you can do
- Arrange video, image, audio, text, shape, caption and HTML scene clips on as many tracks as you need. See Timeline.
- Cut precisely with seven tools: Selection, Razor, Ripple, Rolling, Slip, Slide and Hand. See Editing tools.
- Place and transform on the canvas: move, scale, rotate, crop, mask. See Player and canvas.
- Tune every value in the Inspector, per clip type. See Inspector.
- Animate any value with keyframes and curves. See Keyframes.
- Blend cuts with video transitions and audio crossfades. See Transitions.
- Caption speech automatically, and edit every word. See Captions.
- Voice text with an AI voice. See .
- Reuse groups of clips as compounds and presets. See .
- Export at up to your plan's resolution and frame rate. See .
- Ask the AI to edit for you: the AI bubble in the editor knows your selection and the playhead. See .
Open the editor
- Open Video Editor from the sidebar. The lists your projects in folders.
- Double-click a project, or press New › New project, give it a Name and an Aspect ratio, and press Create.
- From a clip card in the Clipper, Edit › Video opens that clip's project directly.
The editor shows Loading editor… while it loads the project and its media.
Saving
There is no Save button. Every change goes to the server as you make it, and the header shows where it stands:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Saved | Everything is on the server. |
| Saving… | Changes are on their way. |
| Offline — changes will sync | You lost the connection; keep working, your changes go out when it comes back. |
| A change was refused | The server turned a change down (a locked track, say); the editor shows the server's version. |
| Editor updated | A new version of the editor is out; press Reload. |
Editing together
Everyone who opens the same project edits it live. Their avatars show in the header (one per person, however many tabs they have open), their playheads show on the timeline, their selections show on clips, and a clip someone else is dragging shows as a ghost where it would land.
